A Song A Day

Audio
Nico – These Days

Nico - These Days

I’ve been out walking
I don’t do too much talking
These days, these days.
These days I seem to think a lot
About the things that I forgot to do
And all the times I had the chance to.

I’ve stopped my rambling,
I don’t do too much gambling
These days, these days.
These days I seem to think about
How all the changes came about my ways
And I wonder if I’ll see another highway.

I had a lover,
I don’t think I’ll risk another
These days, these days.
And if I seem to be afraid
To live the life that I have made in song
It’s just that I’ve been losing so long.

I’ve stopped my dreaming,
I won’t do too much scheming
These days, these days.
These days I sit on corner stones
And count the time in quarter tones to ten.
Please don’t confront me with my failures,
I had not forgotten them.

In spirit of the new Wes Anderson film, Moonrise Kingdom, I’d like to post a song that was in his classic, The Royal Tenenbaums. This song was played when Margot (adopted) descends from the bus and sees her brother, whom she had an affair with in the past. The scene was really powerful and Nico provided the perfect song for the intimate moment.

In general, I love Nico and I love this song. It’s definitely the go-to when I’m feeling rather “lost”.  If you’re ever feeling lost, I hope you know that you can always m
eet me at the pier by way of the green line bus.

Yours,
Jenn

A Song A Day A new day brings a new song.

Joshua:

On my personal blog, I find myself uploading music every day (would do more if it weren’t limited). So I figured I’d make a blog dedicated to just that: uploading one song that I like each day.

My music taste ranges quite a bit. From The Shins, to the Queens of the Stone Age, to the Beatles, to video game music, to Pink Floyd, to Daft Punk. However, I think my favorite type of music (at this stage of my life) is indie music, so expect mostly that.

Thanks for following. Hope you like my music.

Andy:

An odd little fellow this one is. Well I enjoy all kinds of music, even rap and country, although I will very seldom post those on here, seeing as there isn't much demand for this (well, maybe rap, but I'd rather not post songs about hoes and tricks). Well I hope you guys enjoy my tastes, and I'll be sure not to hog up all the posts so you can have a feel for Josh and Jennifer's musical tastes as well.

Jennifer:

Adventures are amplified with a good soundtrack. Life is an adventure, therefore, my quest is to always find the right song for every scene of it. My music taste is pretty eclectic in decade and in style. Don't be surprised to find a Chopin piece posted before Ella Fitzgerald followed by Death Cab for Cutie.
To quote the famous piano man, Billy Joel, "I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity.
" Josh, Andy and I post songs that are naturally part of our own individual "soundtracks", may these songs offer another song for yours.
